On June 30, USAID/Tunisia hosted an in-person Industry Day in-country with more than 60 Tunisian civil society and INGO representatives to discuss an upcoming civil society activity and answer questions about the program and how to navigate the USAID partnership process. The event took a very inclusive approach. The simultaneous interpretation of English, Arabic, and Sign Language demonstrated USAID/Tunisia’s commitment to putting Tunisians and Tunisian voices front and center.

The anticipated goal of the activity is to empower Tunisian citizens to act and advocate for specific issues and effect change at the local, regional and national level in advancing Tunisia’s development and to strengthen the legitimacy and sustainability of the civil society sector.

USAID/Tunisia’s democracy and governance assistance programs work to improve the quality of governance, strengthen civil society, increase social cohesion, and more.

The Industry Day event served as a forum for USAID to collect verbal feedback from organizations, to engage in a question-and-answer session to help further strengthen the activity design, and to allow for local organizations to participate in a networking opportunity.

For more information about the anticipated opportunity, you can review the details on USAID’s Business Forecast here. Additionally, interested entities are encouraged to continue to monitor Grants.gov for the release of the anticipated notice of funding opportunity (NOFO).
